Privacy policy

This policy explains what the Tulip + Apple Horticultural Services website (tulipandapple.com) collects, why, and what we do with it.

What we collect

• Contact form: your first and last name, email address, phone number if you give it, the topics you tick, your message, and the page you sent it from.
• Appointment requests: the visit you choose, the day and time, your name, email address, phone number, the address of the property to visit, the topics you tick and any notes you add.
• Spam protection: a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, kept for up to one hour, to stop repeated automated messages.
• Analytics: we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It records things like the pages you view, your approximate location (city level), device and browser type, and how you arrived. Google Analytics sets cookies for this. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on.
• Server logs: like every website, our hosting server keeps standard logs (IP address, pages requested, time) for security and troubleshooting.

How we use it

To answer your message, arrange and carry out your appointment, keep the site secure, and improve the site. We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't add you to a mailing list.

Where it goes

Messages and appointment requests are emailed to Tulip + Apple's own mailboxes on our hosting server. Appointment requests are also stored on that server so we can manage the schedule; only Tulip + Apple can see them. Analytics data is processed by Google.

Cookies

The public pages use Google Analytics cookies only. The site's private management area uses one essential sign-in cookie, set only for people who sign in to manage the site.

How long we keep it

Messages stay in our mailbox for as long as we need them to help you. Appointment records are kept for up to two years after the visit, then deleted automatically. Spam-protection data is deleted within one hour. Google Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account.

Your choices

You can ask us to see, correct or delete the information you sent us. Use the contact form and say what you'd like. We'll respond within 30 days.

Children

This site isn't directed at children under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
